Whether you’ve had a baby before or not, preparing to be the mother of a new child can be daunting and very exciting at the same time.   1. Look after yourself

You might be taken up with ordering new items for the baby, going shopping and making sure everything is in order, but don’t forget to look after yourself and your own health. Eat a good diet, avoid foods, which are not good for pregnant women and their babies, such as too much fish, and try out relaxing exercising such as yoga. You can attend classes, which are run specifically for pregnant women, and you can participate in yoga classes, which will help to improve your breathing and circulation during pregnancy and labour.

Don’t spend all your money on the new baby, even though it’s important to have everything prepared. While you’re sorting everything out, take some time out of the week to treat yourself to something nice, whether this is a new pair of shoes to wear after pregnancy or a comfortable pillow or chair that might really help you during pregnancy. Pregnancy massage is a great habit to get into, and you can go to regular sessions, which will improve your circulation, overall health and well-being and help to get rid of any stress you might be feeling too.

If you need help with something, don’t be afraid to ask people for help. When you’re pregnant, many people around you will be excited and only too happy to help with the preparation.
